Suzie Hylton, LLM, TEP

Suzie Hylton is the principal of Legacy & Trust Legal Counsel, PLLC. Her experience includes representing individuals, fiduciaries, and closely-held businesses in a broad range of matters, such as domestic and international estate and trust planning, estate and trust administration, charitable planning, business structuring, governance and succession.


Ms. Hylton has extensive experience representing high net worth individuals and their families in all aspect of wealth planning and management, as well as representing individual and corporate fiduciaries and beneficiaries in connection with the administration of complex estates and trusts. She has worked with individuals and families requiring advice and assistance with international trust issues. Additionally, she assisted wealthy families through the complex rules and regulations of establishing and running family offices, foundations and private trust companies.


Prior to establishing Legacy & Trust Legal Counsel, PLLC Ms. Hylton served 11 years in various senior management positions as counsel for Scotia Private Client Group International, advising its International Wealth Structuring companies on fiduciary and related matters.


Ms. Hylton earned her Masters of Law in Taxation, specializing in Estate Planning from Georgetown University and the designation of “Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP)” by the London-based Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the leading worldwide professional body for experienced practitioners in the fields of trusts & estate, family inheritance and succession planning. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Relations & Management and Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the West Indies. She attended the Norman Manley School of Law. She is licensed to practice in Virginia and New York.
